April 13--COLORADO CITY -- The first Tri-Peaks League Tournament as well as the Santa Fe League Tournament both took place at Hollydot Golf Course on Thursday.
La Junta High School finished fifrth among T-PL schools with a final score of 308. That score was fifth among all teams.
Neveah Fisher led the Lady Tigers as she shot a 101, which was 1stth in the Tri-Peaks and 12th overall. Dawn Luttrell tied for 13th in the T-PL and she tied for 15th overall with a 103. Cassidy Jones tied for 15th in the league and tied for 17th overall with a 104.
Rye had the best team score among Tri-Peaks League teams with 280. Salida was second with 283, Trinidad was third with 305, Florence was fourth with 306, and La Junta had a final score of 308.
Wrapping up the Tri-Peaks team scores were Colorado Springs Christian in sixth with 319, Manitou Springs seventh with 378, and James Irwin eighthth with 385. Lamar did not record a team score.
Rye was also the champion in the Santa Fe League, Fowler was second with 325 and Swink was third with 327. The Lady Grizzlies were eighth among all teams and the Lady Lions were ninth.
Leading the Lady Grizzlies was Isabella Proctor, who was fifth in the Santa Fe and tied for 15th overall with a 103. Danielle Pruett was eighth in the SFL and 21st overall with a 110. Laney Nelson tied for 10th in the SFL and she tied for 23rd overall with a 112, and Kaley Pieper tied for 11th in the Santa Fe and she tied for 25th overall with a 113.
For the Lady Lions, Jolene Carrica was second in the Santa Fe and tied for third overall with an 87. Bethany Horiuchi was seventh in the SFL and 20th overall with a 109. Lauryn Pantoya was 14th in the Santa Fe and tied for 32nd overall with a 131.
Rye's Rachael Shaffer was the medalist among all schools with an 83.
La Junta will next play at the Pueblo East Invitational this coming Thursday beginning at 9 a.m. Fowler and Swink were scheduled to play at the Pueblo County Invitational today at 9 a.m., weather permitting.
