NFL reviewing assault accusations against Bills RB LeSean McCoy

Sporting News — jordan.heck@performgroup.com (Jordan Heck)

Bills running back LeSean McCoy has been accused of domestic assault, child abuse, animal abuse and steroid use. The accusations were made in an Instagram post uploaded Tuesday afternoon.

An NFL spokesman confirmed to Sporting News that the league is "reviewing the matter."

Instagram user miamor_i_adore posted a photo of her "best friend" with a bloody face, which she alleges came from McCoy's abuse. The woman in the photo is Delicia Cordon, who has had an on-again, off-again relationship with McCoy in the past.

The post has been deleted from the Instagram page. In addition, the account that shared the photo and Cordon's Instagram account have been made private.

On Facebook, the same image was shared from a user named Cicely Billups with the following caption:

McCoy responded to the allegations about an hour after the initial post:

The Bills reportedly were aware of the situation, releasing the following statement: “We have spoken to LeSean and have been in contact with the National Football League. We will continue to gather information."

Cordon posted the above photo (left) to her Instagram page yesterday with the following caption:

According to TMZ Sports, McCoy recently filed a lawsuit against Cordon. TMZ claims "McCoy went to court in June seeking to get a judge's order forcing to her to move out of a home he owns in Alpharetta, Georgia. In court docs, McCoy wrote ... 'Defendant is ex-girlfriend of owner/plaintiff and refuses to leave.'"

TMZ says McCoy and Cordon were scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, but the case might be delayed because of a "medical emergency involving a member of her lawyer's family."

TMZ adds that court documents claim McCoy cut electricity to the house and "things have been nasty ever since."

Later in the day, TMZ Sports published an audio recording of a dispatch call that they report was sent to McCoy's house in Georgia.

The audio in the dispatch, transcribed:

TMZ reports the dispatch was sent at 3:23 a.m. ET Tuesday.

Deadspin obtained a statement from the Milton County (Ga.) Police Department, which reads as follows:

Cordon's mother posted a photo to Instagram with the caption, "I am deleting the other post way too much hate going on. My daughter is resting now. let the police do their job.

We will continue to update with more details as they emerge.
